What we like...

Nilla  recommends 'The Maze Runner' by James Dashner

A boy called Thomas gets trapped in this world called The Glade.  The Glade is surrounded by a massive maze.  His task is to try escape and survive.  There will be monsters trying to to kill him.  This book is jam packed and full of action.  Also it is very tense.

It is for over 10s because it has a couple of rude words and I think over 10s would enjoy it more.  I would recommend it for children who love action and adventure.

Yousof recommends 'A little history of Science' by William Bynum

There is not much of a plot.  This book goes over a range of philosophers and scientists from Aristotle ( a Greek philosopher) to Benjamin Franklin.  It is a really interesting read for science lovers.  It taught me quite a lot and really helped me in class.

I am recommending this book because I feel science is special but you would need to be quite mature to read this.

Not sure what to read next.  Here are somebook reviews from our children.

Edie recommends 'The Demon Dentist' by...

The story is about a boy called Alfie who never goes to the dentist but things will change.  The best bit in the story is when the witch takes out Alfie’s teeth

Reanna recommends 'The Witches' by

It’s about a boy, called Billed who lived with his parents but they died so his grand mother took over and looked after him.  The best bit is when the little boy turned into a mouse.

Omar recommends 'Big Nate' by Lincoln Pierce

It is about a boy called Nate making a snow sculpture in a competition against the entire school.  The best bit is when Nate gets a snow ball in the face and goes miles.

Grace recommends 'Awful Auntie' by David Walliams

There is a girl called Stella whose mum and dad dies and she has to get looked after by her auntie.  I loved it, my favourite part is when the balloon farts across the sky.  I recommend it because it will make you laugh.

Levi and Gao Kai recommend 'Diary of a Wimpy Kid' by Jeff Kinney

It’s about a boy who goes to middle school and has an unlucky life.  It is a comedy. I recommend it to people about seven years old because small children wouldn’t understand it.

My favourite bit was when he is in his pants and he gets locked outside his hotel room.

Joao recommends 'The Coombian Riddle' by The Pupils of Coombe Hill.

It’s about two children that find a coin and key and go to many historical places.  The issue is that Julius Caesar has let power go to his head and wants to take over the world.  I would recommend it because it has a lot of suspense.

Edie recommends 'Girl Missing' by Sophie Mckenzie

Lauren goes on a website about missing children and she finds someone who looks just like her so she sets off to America to find her real parents.  I personally think this book is very good.  The most thrilling bit is when Lauren gets kidnapped with her genetic sister, Mo.  I recommend it to people over ten years, it is quite scary.

Omar recommends 'The Werepuppy' by Jacqueline Wilson

There is a boy called Nicky and he has four sisters.  My favourite part is when he gets the puppy and it bit Mary Gold.  I think everyone should read it.
